Svechha organizes a Blood donation Camp
Hyderabad – September 20, 2007 As part of social responsibility, Svechha Foundation is organizing a series of Blood Donation camps for Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust. Svechha ensures that the blood donated through Svechha blood camps will be given for a nominal fee (Test report fees) to the poor patients. Along-side these blood donation camps, Svechha plans to have entertainment programs to attract the donors.
In first phase we will be doing this at LGS, My Home Sarovar(near secretariat) on Friday 21st September’07 between 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This would be one of the additional service activities being undertaken by IT companies associated with Svechha including Infogile Technologies Limited, Lanco Global Systems etc. in order to reach out to society at large, besides carrying out regular IT services.
Svechha appeals it’s volunteers and the public to donate blood at these camps to help poor people get access to low cost blood units. All donors are welcome to submit their names and blood type details at the venue. This is a service that could, one day, benefit or save the life of someone anywhere in the world. Please do not submit your name if any of the following International Red Cross guidelines apply to you: History of hepatitis, Currently taking hypertension medication, Blood pressure reading of less than 120/80., Under 18 years old, Weight less than 110 pounds.
Blood is tested for HIV 1 and 2, hepatitis B and C, and syphilis before being used by the blood bank for distribution. Tests for other infectious diseases are carried out if the blood is to be used by at risk patients (for example blood used for young infants or transplant patients is tested for cytomegalovirus).
