Svechha organizes Rock
Rhythmz 2007.
Hyderabad – March 04, 2007 Svechha, a non-profit
organization based in Hyderabad, organized a fund-raising
event called ROCK RHYTHMZ on 3rd March. ROCK RHYTHMZ is a
National Level Rock Contest and is significant as it was the
first Rock event of its kind for a social cause & also
provided a platform for IT corporate Rock bands alongside
professional bands participating.
Rock bands from Bombay, Pune, Lucknow, Chennai, Bangalore
and Hyderabad participated in this contest along with
corporate bands from IT companies like Microsoft, Oracle,
CSC and Satyam. The pre-finals were conducted on March 2nd
at PRASADS Multiplex. The final event was on March 3rd at
Durgam Cheruvu, Hyderabad. Winners of Campus Rock Idol,
‘History Makers’ gave a special performance dedicated to the
beneficiaries of the event. The contest culminated with a DJ
ball featured DJ Moksh.
The contest was won by Chennai Based band “Panatella”,
followed up by Satyam Band as 1st runners up. Prizes were
given by Famous Music Director, Chakri & other film
personalities from Telugu Film Fraternity. The show was
supported by TV9, Big FM, Café Coffee Day, Vision Avenues,
Prasads Multiplex, Hyderabad Central along with various
volunteers from IT companies at Hyderabad like Oracle,
Infosys, iSoft, SumTotal Systems, Satyam.
“All the Svechha members and volunteers worked for this
event without taking any compensation. All the funds raised
now would be used to fund these two organizations and few
other poor students in Andhra Pradesh. Lot of effort was put
to reduce the expenses for the event so that the maximum go
to the people in need” Svechha Officials stated.
“Old age home is in bad need of funds to just have enough
food and basic facilities for funds. Our main aim is to help
them provide operational expenses for the age home and get
more training material and sponsor poor disabled kid’s
education.“ said Puneet Bindlish, Vice President, Svechha
Foundation. Puneet Bindlish is also the CEO of Infogile
Corporation and his organization has decided to extend "life
long" assistance to Svechha in all its philanthropic
efforts
